NGP/Nagpur Junction -- CSMT/Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus

Nagpur Duronto Express is a daily service train which runs between Nagpur Junction, Second Capital of Maharashtra after Mumbai. The train is most popular on this route.
Being a Duronto express it does not stop at any other station in between. However it does stop at Bhusawal as a technical Halt. It also stops at Igatpuri and Kasara for removal and addition of banker engines. But from 1st of January 2016 all/some technical halts are converted to commercial halt. Thus tickets are issued from Nagpur, Bhusaval, Igatpuri and Mumbai.
Previously, a WCAM 2/2P or WCAM 3 used to haul the train from Mumbai CST to Igatpuri (technical halt) following which it got either a WAP 4 of Bhusawal Shed or WAP 7 of Ajni shed.
With Central Railway completing the change over of 1500 V DC traction to 25,000 V AC traction on 06 June 2015, this train is now hauled end to end by Ajni based WAP 7.

From 23rd of February 2019, this train now runs with pure LHB coaches.
Jnaneswari Express, Samarsata Express, Gitanjali Express, Kolkata Mail via Nagpur, Vidarbha Express, Sewagram Express, Shalimar Express and some other trains ply on this route with travel time varying from 16 hrs to 13 hrs. However the Nagpur Duronto is the fastest option for this route as it manages to connect the two cities in just 11 hrs.

Nagpur Junction (station code: NGP) is a railway station in Nagpur, in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is an important junction station on the Howrah–Mumbai and Delhi–Chennai trunk line of the Indian Railways. Nagpur railway station is one of the oldest and busiest stations in Maharashtra, India.
Nagpur is a city with two divisional headquarters (one for Central Railway and another for South Eastern Railway), a rare distinction it shares with Lucknow.
Nagpur railway station receives two hundred and forty-two trains daily. Direct trains run from Nagpur railway station to all major cities, including: Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata.
There is detention to freight trains due to conflict and priority to Mail, Express and Passenger trains. While line capacity is being augmented on the corridors leading to Nagpur by construction of a 3rd line, it is not found feasible, to lay independent lines for passing through traffic in the Nagpur area, because of space constraint.
This will decongest Nagpur, Ajni, Kalamna and Itwari Railway Line Yards, thus facilitating running of EMUs in and around Nagpur and reducing the detention of trains.
In 2008, Nagpur railway station was among 22 stations in India that were recommended to be upgraded to meet international standards.
In 1867, Mumbai rail first connected to Nagpur. In 1881, Nagpur was connected to Kolkata via the Nagpur State Railway of Chhattisgarh. It was officially inaugurated on 15 January 1925 by then Governor Sir Frank Sly. Prior to 1924, the railway station was located east of its current location. It has become a major tourist destination.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (officially Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus) (station code: CSTM (mainline)/ST (suburban)), also known by its former name Victoria Terminus (station code: BBVT/VT), is a historic terminal train station and UNESCO World Heritage Site in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
The terminus was designed by British born architectural engineer Frederick William Stevens, in an exuberant Italian Gothic style. Its construction began in 1878, in a location south of the old Bori Bunder railway station, and was completed in 1887, the year marking 50 years of Queen Victoria's rule, the building being named, Victoria Terminus.
In March 1996 the station's name was changed to "Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus" (with station code CST). Both former initials "VT" and the current, "CST", are also commonly used.
The terminus is the headquarters of India's Central Railway. It is one of the busiest railway stations in India, serving as a terminal for both long-distance- and suburban trains.
CSMT has a total of 18 platforms—seven platforms are for suburban EMU trains and eleven platforms (Platform 8 to Platform 18) are for long-distance trains. Rajdhani, Duronto, Garib Rath and Tejas Express leave from Platform No. 18. Air-conditioned dormitories were inaugurated at CST on 16 April 2013.
The station has been the location of filming the "Jai Ho" song in Slumdog Millionaire and the 2011 Indian film Ra.One.
