LESSON FOUR: Appreciate and Accept Your (& Other's) Unique Healing Processes Understand and accept that everyone (including yourself) has a unique process for approaching health and wellness challenges, it’s not going to match yours, and it might include things you don’t agree with or “believe in.” Support others in their journey as you would want to be supported.

Collectively 2020 has dished out the kinds of life-shattering challenges that inspire truly amazing growth and transformation. I experienced this kind of challenge when I was suddenly stricken with a mysterious condition that took away the use of my body and turned out to be ALS. It took me way too long to recognize the amazing gifts and beautiful lessons contained in the very challenges I was only focused on stopping, instead always trying to go back to the way things were. The constant reaching, fighting, and yearning for 'normal' actually caused me to slip into debilitation faster... I wanted to share the most important lessons that I've learned through this process, to hopefully save you lots of time and certainly debilitation. There are so many opportunities contained in these challenging moments, I hope we can keep discovering them together!

I feel like the entire country and I have definitely struggled with everything, especially the realization that physical contact with people and everything that goes along with it won't be possible for the for-see-able future...and possibly forever. Even though Güber is the best service dog ever, having ALS complicated by reactivated tick-borne and EBV infections make the future look, isolated... to say the least. Ugh. Sometimes getting down just sneaks up on me and this video was a reminder of how filming this Vlog and getting out is a great depression cure for me and is quickly becoming a passion... thank you so much for taking the time to watch! Güber and I hope it helps you and if nothing else lifts your spirits a bit too!
