✨Naturalisation:
It is a legal process in which an Adult person applies to the Home Office an application to become a British Citizen; it is called Naturalisation 🇬🇧

🔹Requirements:
There are several requirements you need to meet in order to become a British Citizen. Today we’ll discuss about Naturalisation application requirements:

1. Residence Requirement:
The applicant must stay long enough in the UK to qualify for Naturalisation; the duration of residence depends on ones route; could be three or five years.

If you are not married to or a civil partner of a British citizen, then the qualifying period to apply for naturalisation application is 5 years.
If you are married to or a civil partner of a British citizen, then the qualifying period to apply for naturalisation application is 3 years.

2. Legal Immigration status Requirement:
You must hold right to remain in the UK permanently in order to be eligible for British Nationality:

indefinite leave to remain in the UK
‘settled status’ (also known as ‘indefinite leave to remain under the EU Settlement Scheme’)

3. English language test and Life in the UK test Requirement:
Applicant need to have sufficient speaking and listening knowledge of English. This is a separate requirement to the Life in the UK requirement, and you must meet both requirements. However, there are exemptions based on age and health issues.

A Home Office approved qualification in English at B1 CEFR or higher, from the Secure English Language Test list. Only English language qualifications on this list will be accepted as evidence that you have met the requirement to hold a B1 level English qualification.
Applicant must pass Life in the UK test based on UK history, government and civic principles to demonstrate their integration into the UK.
