Curl disease is the most common disease of peach and nectarine trees. When pruning a peach tree after infestation with curly leaf disease, you can remove all dry, bare shoots. This can be done immediately when you discover the dry shoots. There is no need to wait until after harvest.

Peach trees should be pruned every year thereafter and vigorously, as this prevents scabbing and promotes fruit quality. The best times for this pruning are after harvest or in the spring.

The curl disease can be treated with copper, garlic preparations or fungicides. The decisive factor is the time of treatment! The time of infection is during bud swell. Therefore, preventive measures should be taken at bud swell, just before precipitation. Treatment when symptoms are already visible is ineffective.
