In classical chess, rapid chess, or blitz chess... when it comes to the minor pieces... it is hard to beat the long distance power of the bishop pare.I found it interesting to learn that Grand Masters generally prefer to have the long range striking advantage of the bishop over the tricky knights in the middle and end game phases of chess. In this video, I Make the bishops for my giant chess set and do my best to imbue the shapes of these mighty chess men with all the form an elegant power that their station in the board game possesses.
I hope you enjoy watching me turn on the wood lathe. I know I sure enjoy the wood turning process and the chance to make something so classic and iconic :)
Best regards!
Conrad Craft.
