Quick walk-through of a beautiful dining room and spiral staircase that I just installed wainscoting in! It does need to be painted, but wanted to get some quick footage of my final product!

At the beginning of the project we had to remove all the old material that was just installed on top of the trowel finished drywall. The customer wanted a flat smooth finish for all the wainscoting and to install it correctly you should use some sort of a “backer” to cover over the drywall. So after removing all the old material we installed 1/4” MDF as our “backer”. Then we installed chair rail at the height of our backer with a 3/4” X 1” cap to cover the top seam.

Liquid Nails was used for each piece touching the drywall, wood glue for all wood and MDF seams, and 2P-10(2-step adhesive glue and activator) for all miters.

We used Bondo for all seams to cover and sand, you can see the grey color on the wainscoting walls in multiple areas.

This was just a quick video to show you all what Im up to right now. Didn’t want to over-burden the homeowner with taking a lot of footage while I was in the home, so I just did a final walkthrough.

Hope you enjoyed or got a good idea from watching! Thank you and SUBSCRIBE!
