Patrick Stewart in the trailer for Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness means we're getting the Illuminati in the MCU, right? Yes...and NO.
While everyone is busy speculating who will be on the Illuminati team lineup - Tom Cruise's Superior Iron Man, Reed Richards, Charles Xavier, Loki, Namor, Kang, etc - I'm not so sure we're REALLY getting the Illuminati. At least not exactly.

From a comics perspective, sure, we're probably getting Professor X and a team that looks, acts, and feels like the Illuminati we expect. But as a writer and filmmaker, I don't think it's that simple. I think this team is going to go by a different name entirely: The Defenders. (No, not Daredevil and his crew.) And the reason I think this is a core tenet of good storytelling: Every story element needs to serve the greater theme. What's the theme for Doctor Strange 2? What lesson do both Stephen Strange and Wanda, the Scarlet Witch, need to learn?

Order versus Chaos, and the balance a hero needs to strike.
