I brought cute flower seedlings, but I don't have enough space to plant them. So, I hastily made a vegetable raised bed with available wood, but I didn't buy any soil, of course. I used dead branches, homemade compost, and dug out the soil under the compost. It is my usual way to mix charcoal and ashes that I burned in a stove into it.

I make the compost with fallen leaves. Fallen leaves may seem like a nuisance, but if you put them in a black plastic bag, they will turn into good compost. It saves the trouble of throwing them away, so I recommend it.

Last year, I tried sowing seeds in eggshells. It was very cute and good, but when I left them in the garden, the crows mistook them for real eggs and took them all away. When all the eggs were gone, I couldn't understand what had happened. I had forgotten where I had put them! I panicked, thinking I might have dementia!

It was already strange when I realized, "There are no eggs I sowed!".

When I found out the truth, I felt relieved and didn't care that the sowing had failed.

This year, I learned from that experience and sowed the seeds indoors in a normal way. I grew them on top of a bookshelf. As a result, I succeeded in germination too much.
