I started living in the countryside in my parents' old house. Since coming here, I will send my family to enjoy gardening, setting up a table in the garden and chatting over a cup of coffee, and living a life that feels the seasons.
This garden is Japanese style, but at the back of the garden, a secret door that I have longed for has been created. Where it leads to is a secret. It is an exciting door!

I am going to make this garden my own by planting seasonal flowers and plants while retaining the Japanese style.
I also long to have an English garden like Tasha Tudor's, but since this is Japan, the climate is different. I hope to create a garden that fits the climate while incorporating what I can.

This is the southern part of Ibaraki Prefecture. Every house has a large, spacious garden.
If they wanted to, they could grow vegetables in their vegetable gardens.

This house also had a field that had been abandoned, so I decided to grow my own vegetables.
However, since the field had been abandoned for many years, it had become a jungle infested with reeds, kudzu, and Japanese knotweed.
The mowing team gathered there and mowed the large field in one day.
Here is a video of the mowing.

The chief of the mowing team can make anything. He renewed the bamboo fence that was about to break and also renewed the fence at the back of the garden.
And the other day he made a secret door that we had longed for, and today he will be installing the door steps.
Here is a video of the door making.

We have completed a magnificent door and steps that we could not have made by our DIY.

In this video, we introduced some of the field work. Other parts will be introduced in another video.

Also, you told us in the comments how to make dumplings to kill slugs, but we have not been able to make them yet. This is a dumpling that we definitely need and I will definitely try to make it this week. This is a job I should do before the rainy season!
Thank you very much for your instruction.
