Using an Overlap Warm-Up Drill

Chapters:
0:00 - Introduction
0:04 - Phase 1
2:18 - Phase 2
4:17 - Phase 3

Phase 1 - The ball starts with the player on the yellow markers, and those players dribble to the yellow pole before passing out wide to the player on the blue marker. The player receiving the ball turns and plays the ball into space for the player on the white who is making an overlapping run. When the overlapping runners receives the ball, they pass to the players on the mannequins in front of them, then to the players at top of the exercise. When the players receive the ball at the top of the exercise they pass to the players on the mannequins on the same side of the exercise and then diagonally to the players on the red markers, before the ball is returned to the beginning of the exercise.

Phase 2 - This phase is the same as the previous one, yet when the player receives the ball on the overlap, they now dribble to the next mannequin and then pass to the top mannequin, into the middle, diagonal pass across to the players on the red markers and then finish in the mini-goal.

Phase 3 - This phase follows the same pattern as the previous, but this time the players who receive the ball on the final mannequins now dribble towards the red markers and then finish in the mini-goals.
