Freezing Swiss Chard -Chopped
I am showing 2 ways I do it,

I freeze whole leaves which I use for Stuffed Swiss Chard Leaves.
I am also showing chopped Swiss chard for soups or beans and greens.
Wash the leaves well.

Whole Leaf:
Cut off the stem at the bottom of the leaf. Set stems aside for later use.
Steam the leaves just until they wilt. This will take a minute or less.
Put the wilted leaves in an ice bath (fill a container with ice and water). This will stop the cooking quickly.
Gently remove the leaves from the ice bath. Place them single layer on a towel and gently open them up to their full leaf appearance. Dry them a bit by patting them with a towel.
Place a large piece of plastic wrap on your work surface,
Place a piece of paper towel them place a whole leave on the paper towel, and continue to layer until you have about 6 leaves stacked up.
Gently roll up the plastic wrap and leaves, keeping the plastic wrap's edges on the sides. When finished rolling fold in the plastic wrap on the edges. The video shows how to do this. Now you can freeze them.

Chopped Swiss Chard Leaves
Wash leaves well.
Gather your clean jars for freezing or use plastic bags or containers.
Remove the stem by folding leaf in half and cutting from almost the top of the leaf down. Set Stem aside for later use.
Chop the stems in 1/4 to 1/2 inch pieces. I have a double-layer steaming basket and I steamed the stems separately from the leaves. That's not necessary but I wanted to evenly divide the stems in the jars.

Now, chop your Swiss chard. Place in a steaming basket and steam until wilted. This takes under 1 minute. Cool immediately in an ice bath until all the heat is gone.

Drain well. Fill your jars and top each one with some stems.

It's ready to freeze the jars.
