Greetings, Youghal enthusiasts! Hold on to your hats because we've got a dynamo from across the pond, and her name is Maureen Gilchrist! Hailing all the way from the charming state of North Carolina, USA, Maureen has landed in our historic town with a mission – to sweep away the cobwebs and breathe new life into the soon-to-be Youghal Film and Photo Museum on North Main Street.


In this video clip, Maureen stands tall, wielding a sweeping brush with the finesse of a maestro at work. With her sleeves rolled up and a determined glint in her eye, she's taking on the noble task of clearing out the remnants of the past, making room for the treasures that will soon grace the museum's interior.


Our North Carolina wonder-woman isn't just sprucing up the joint for the sheer thrill of it – oh no! She's a key player in turning this space into a cultural hub that will not only showcase the vibrant history of Youghal but also bring some much-needed footfall back to North Main Street.
And what's this about a hidden gem? Well, buckle up, folks! Among the captivating pieces set to dazzle museum-goers is the first animation of the iconic Youghal Clock Gate, a creation by none other than the pioneering Youghal Horgan brothers in the early 20th century. Can you believe it? Right under the shadow and a stone's throw away from the Clock Gate in 2024, history is coming full circle!


Tommy Curtin and Michael Fawl, the two gents who joined Maureen in the cleanup, had no choice but to step back momentarily, awestruck by the whirlwind that is Maureen. She's proving that when it comes to hard work, women are every bit as capable as the men, and she's doing it with style, grace, and a sprinkle of that good ol' Southern hospitality.
