In March I welcomed a videographer into the studio to really help me capture the essence of this incredible space.

Studio flow is my own little utopia, it is free from distractions and rules and I can simply move through the different rooms as my creative intuition guides me.

To me, walking through the doors of my studio, I feel that connection, where my heart can guide me freely, to simply create and enjoy the process. This is where my true inspiration comes from – from within me.

Yes, there are always outside influences that can come from a walk in the woods, a face in a magazine to help capture light and shadows. But, the soul and life that breathes through my work can only come from within me.

I have spoken with many fellow artists over the years and some call it channelling, others say it is their time to meditate and let the mind switch off. I personally feel the energy flow, both calming and invigorating, as inspiration hits, this is why I refer to it as flow.

Sometimes our energy changes, that is normal. We need to move through these stages and accept what our feelings are telling us. Listen to the flutterings of our heart and see where they take us.

This level of creativity and inspiration takes some practice and this is what I want to guide you on. How to relax, tune out that inner critique and really feel your way to inspiration. After all, this is where the magic and beauty happen and where others will connect with your work.
