Ok, welcome to our workshop. this time the DnD workshop would like to share with you about how to finish HPL furniture that is simple, fast and luxurious. So far, we have been using PVC Edging for this purpose. especially for door edges and table tops so that they are not sharp in the hand, HPL colors are more durable and also safer because the corners of our furniture edges are not sharp and not prone to breakage.
In terms of motifs, there are solid colored PVC edgings such as black and white, and the second is woodgrain or wood motifs.
Usually the question arises, do all the HPL motifs have edges? the answer is no. You can check in the HPL catalog, I took the example of the Carta product, the one with the letter E code in the corner of the sample, it's the motif that is available with the edging. if there is no E code, it means that the motif is not produced with the edges, simple right? Now what if the motif we use doesn't have any edges? for me, I usually adjust it to the theme, yes, for minimalism I use white or black edging, because that color is a neutral color, good to be combined with other solid colors or woodgrain motifs, later we will show the results, how the results of woodgrain table tops using edging motif, and how the result if we combine it with white.
of the width, which are commonly sold in the market are 22mm and 44mm wide. I take the example, the white one is 22mm wide and the brown one is 44mm. you adapt it to your needs.
in terms of thickness, these vary, yes, the thinnest are usually pieces of vinyl sheet, the most common interior builders call it Taco Sheet, regardless of what brand of edging hehehe… but I don't recommend it for the vinyl sheet, because even make our furniture look cheap. now for the premium, the thickness starts from 1mm and 2mm like this. Well, we happen to have stock of edging PVC woodgrain which is a partner of HPL woodgrain which we will make an example later.
