Taos Pueblo sculptor John Suazo has been chosen to install a sculpture at the Taos County Administrative-Judicial Complex in Taos, New Mexico, USA. We spoke with him about the sculpture and some of the other works at his studio on the Taos Pueblo Indian Reservation, just outside the town of Taos. When Taos County completed the county complex in 2011, it set $100,000 aside to purchase artwork for the complex, according to Taos County Manager Steve Archuleta. Suazo’s sculpture will cost the county $55,000, taken from that fund. Taos County issued a request for proposals in May 2014 for the design and installation of a sculpture for the complex. Video was shot and edited by Rick Romancito of The Taos News.
