The 23rd-annual Unsung Heroes event, hosted by the Taos News was held at El Monte Sagrado on Wednesday. Oct. 4, 2023. Malinda Williams was named Citizen of the Year for her work as Executive Director of Community Against Violence.

10 other Taos County residents were honored by a selection committee of past honorees, who chose this year's Unsung Heroes based on their contributions to the community through outstanding business leadership and volunteer work.
