Defense attorneys Brian Steel and Max Schardt finally had their moments grilling Kenneth Copeland, aka Lil Woody, on the "lies" he told police after the murder of Donovan Thomas Jr. During his cross-examination, Copeland testified how close he and rapper Young Thug really were. He also admitted to using the vehicle Young Thug rented that was involved in Thomas' murder and stealing the YSL rival gang member's chain.

Young Thug faces nearly a dozen charges, including possession of drugs and weapons, participation in criminal street gang activity, and conspiracy to violate Georgia’s RICO Act. The rapper was arrested in May of 2022 along with 27 other alleged gang members. Many of those defendants have taken plea deals in the case.
