The state played a series of jail calls for the jury from Kenneth "Lil Woody" Copeland. During one of his calls, Copeland said he was going to set up Young Thug and then asked the rapper to help with his bond. The state questioned Copeland on why he asked Young Thug for help when he "snitched" on his during his interrogation. "I was going through a phase in my life....I made it all up," he responded.

Young Thug faces nearly a dozen charges, including possession of drugs and weapons, participation in criminal street gang activity, and conspiracy to violate Georgia’s RICO Act. The rapper was arrested in May of 2022 along with 27 other alleged gang members. Many of those defendants have taken plea deals in the case.
