It all came to a head when Keri ended up taking on the Government of the time spearheading the community-led response to the statutory intervention of Moerewa School in 2012.
As the then-principal of Moerewa School, what ultimately transpired would be a titanic showdown with the then-Minister of Education that would force westernised systems of teaching and learning to recognise Māori success in the education sector.
