Is Too Much Fruit Bad For You? Find out why eating fruit might not be any better for you than eating candy when it comes to gaining weight.

Fructose is a sugar that is found in fruit which is processed and stored in the liver as liver glycogen. Other sugars like white potatoes (starches) are digested and stored in the muscles as muscle glycogen.

The problem is the average person can only store 50 to 100 grams of fructose (sugar) in the liver. The rest is turned into fat and can lead to a number of health issues like fatty liver disease and metabolic syndrome.

In addition, when you eat processed foods that have high fructose corn syrup in them it makes the problem even worse. Foods like candy, soda, cake and cereal can be very high in high fructose corn syrup. Therefore, fruit in conjunction with processed foods high in high fructose corn syrup are a bad combination. It is too much fructose for the liver to handle.

It's ok to eat a piece of fruit everyday as long as you are not eating high fructose corn syrup too. Just try your best to limit the amount of fructose in your diet.

How to eliminate high fructose corn syrup:
start looking at labels
avoid soda, candy and some cereals
stop eating processed foods
