This is the all new redesigned BMW X3. The X3 had a minor facelift in 2022 compared to the old 2018 model, but now, this car is facing an even bigger change inside and outside. Plus, a new M performance model is about to revolutionize the performance mini SUV segment.

First, we will go over the horsepower and torque figures. First, you have the normal BMW X3 30, which has a 4 cylinder turbo engine with a 48 volt hybrid system, which puts out 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, which is the exact same as the base BMW X1 and X2 in their newest model years. Then, you have the X3 M50, with significantly more power, at 393 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque from an inline 6 turbo engine with the same 48 volt mild hybrid system. 0-100 km/h time for the normal X3 is claimed by BMW to be 6.3 seconds, while the X3 M50 is rated at 4.6 seconds, making that one of the fastest 6 cylinder performance mini SUV’s on the market.

Next up, we move on to the interior, where you can see a significant change in terms of design and comfort compared to the pre facelift model. You will immediately see the newest iDrive 9 interface on the curved display, compared to the outdated interior and software designs that you see in the pre facelift models. You will also get a new steering wheel that has been slightly revisioned compared to the steering wheel you see in the older models. The pre-facelift models did have ambient lighting, but this newer model comes with even better ambient lighting, with a bigger ambient light bar on the front, especially below the screen. Then, you’ll have multiple other changes to the doors, seats, and everything else in this brand new car.

Now, we will talk briefly about the exterior. You will quickly see that the grill has been changed, and it looks very futuristic compared to other BMW models. You also get new headlights and taillights on this X3, which fits in perfectly with other new BMW models. In addition, you will see that the side of the car looks like the sides of the new BMW X1. You will in addition to that, get a light up grill at the front like most new BMW models have nowadays.

Pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, but we can expect the normal X3 to start at around $50,000-60,000 CAD (around $30,000-40,000 USD), and the X3 M50 to start at at least $10,000 CAD more. If you look in the BMW website for Canada, you will see that they are already in the model lineup. In that case, we can expect both models to be arriving sometime soon, probably in Summer 2024.
