This is the all new Mini Countryman. The Countryman has been one of the weirdest looking SUV’s on the marker by Mini, because it looked like a hatchback, while actually being an SUV. Now, for 2025, the Countryman has been revolutionized not just on the outside, but even on the inside, especially on the signature Mini screen in the middle.

First, we should talk briefly about the power figures of the three trims, the S All4, the JCW (John Cooper Works), and the SE All4, which is the electric version. All4 is Mini’s AWD system, just like XDrive, which is BMW’s AWD system. The Countryman S is Mini’s base trim, and the Countryman JCW is the sportier model. The S model will put out 241 hp and 295 lb-ft from a similar 4 cylinder engine that was put in the new BMW X1. The S is also able to go from 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds. The SE All4 is like the S, but just electrified, with two electric motors thanks to the All4 system. This model puts out 313 hp and 363 lb-ft, and is able to go from 0-60 mph in at least 4 seconds. And lastly, we have the JCW, which is the sportiest Countryman. This will give you 312 hp and the same 295 lb-ft, making this the most powerful Mini Countryman ever, with an engine. The SE technically has a little more power and torque, but with the electric motors, it may not be as fast as the JCW at high speeds. The JCW can go from 0-60 mph in at least 4-5 seconds.

Now we will talk briefly about the interior, which for 2025, has been more revolutionized than ever. First off, you have the circle screen that Mini puts on other models such as the Cooper. But unlike all the other generations, Mini has made their screen all digital with no single physical buttons. Mini’s new infotainment was developed by Samsung, so it has got a powerful processor behind it, and the screen has also got very amazing graphics that remind you of an Android software, mainly because Samsung, the company who developed the infotainment, does also have Android software built in their phones and tablets. Mini also got rid of the small screen behind the steering wheel, and now, you have got ambient lighting that covers the entire dash which is a technique that Mini has never done on any of their models before.

Now, we will talk about the exterior. The last generation Mini Countryman looked a little outdated in terms of its style and appearance, looking like many other Minis did in the past. But now, it truly looks all new, with all LED’s in its headlights, and an impressive lighting pattern inside the rear taillights. There are some futuristic wheels included in this car, along with a similar body line to the last generation Countryman, which has just been changed and refined slightly for the 2025 model year.

And lastly, we will talk about pricing. The base model, the S All4, will start at $38,900 CAD ($28,550 USD), exactly $8,000 CAD less than the JCW Countryman at $46,900 CAD ($34,421 USD). Meanwhile, the SE All4 will still cost a bit less than the JCW, but still more than the regular S All4, at $45,200 CAD ($33,173 USD). The new Countryman should arrive to North America before Summer 2024.
