Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your RV, camper or fifth wheel. We'll be taking a look at three frame mount options and three bumper mount options. The three frame mount options that we have are the Ultra Fab, part number UF35-946403. Then we have the CURT, part number C13702 and then we have the CURT, part number 13703. For our bumper mount options, first one's going to be the CURT, part number E-100. Second is going to be our Swagman and that's part number S64025, and then finally, we have an Ultra Fab, part number UF35-946402. The first thing to do is to determine what category you fall into.

If you're towing a vehicle, a large trailer, a boat trailer or an accessory with a large amount of tongue weight, you'll need one of the frame mounted hitches that can be used for towing. You will not be able to use the Ultra Fab hitch for towing, so you'll need one of the CURT frame mounted hitches. If you're looking for something easy to install, towing a light duty trailer or using a light duty accessory, such as a bike rack, then a bumper mounted hitch is for you. Let's go ahead and go over our frame mounted hitches first. All of them are Class III and they all feature a 2 inch by 2 inch opening. The Ultra Fab is going to work with your box, C channel or I beam frames and it will work with frame widths between 47 1/8 to 77 inches.

For our first CURT hitch, it too is going to work with your box, C channel and I beam frames. However, just keep in mind that if you are mounting it to an I bean, you'll need to have an extra wide flange. It is going to work with frame widths between 18 and 51 inches. For our second CURT hitch, it also is going to work with your box, C channel and I beam frames, with frame widths between 22 and 72 inches. On our Ultra Fab, our receiver tube extends 5 inches beyond our cross tube.

On our first CURT here, it extends 6 1/4. Then, finally on our second CURT, it extends 8 1/4. When it comes to installation, our Ultra Fab must be welded in place. For our two CURT hitches you will have to drill into your frame and drill into the cross tube to get your hardware in. They all feature a 5/8 hitch pin hole for securing your ball mounts and accessories. A hitch pin and clip is not included but you can pick one up right here at etrailer.com, part number PC3. When carrying non-trailer loads, such as a bike rack or cargo carrier, CURT requires a stabilization strap for the second CURT hitch option.

That's part number 18050. For our safety chains, they all have a plate-style design. For our Ultra Fabs, they come in at an angle. Our two CURT hitches have welded on plates that secure to the bottom of the receiver. When it comes to weight ratings, the Ultra Fab has a 350 pound max. tongue weight. For our first CURT hitch, it has a 5,000 pound gross trailer weight and a 500 pound tongue weight. Then, finally, for our second CURT hitch, it has a 3,500 pound gross trailer weight and a 350 tongue weight. Our first CURT hitch here is the only one rated for weight distribution. That's a 6,000 pound gross trailer weight and a 600 pound max. tongue weight. Your choice in trailer hitch may depend on your frame width but we'll go ahead and sum these up for you. When it comes to weight capacity, our first CURT hitch, part number C13702, takes it because not only does it have the highest weight rating, it can also be used with weight distribution. When it comes to ease of installation, the two CURT hitches take it because you don't have to weld them in
