What we have here is the scenic Boyana district of Sofia, an upscale neighborhood in close proximity to the VItosha mountain. For years this place has been synonymous with wealth with its amazing location and is generally a place where one can see mansions and expensive houses scattered around. The first half the video is centered around the National Historic Museum - the huge square building in the middle of a socialist style garden and dry water cascades behind it. It is abundant museum housing impressive collection of historic items of all parts of the rich history of Bulgaria. Next to the museum is the President’s residence, displaying a very prominent for the late socialism architectural style. This has been the house of the communist party secretary, Todor Zhivkov and there is an evident luxurious style about it, including the spacious green gardens and sheer size of the building. To the east, nearing the cloverleaf intersection lays the new base of the football national team, with its nicely maintained fields and brand new white supporting structures. For the second part of the video we move closer to the heart of Boyana. It is not where most mansions and palaces are, but here we can see the famous Boyana Church. A small piece of history, it is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Quite an old structure – it dates back to tenth century and has witnessed the growth of the future capital through the ages.
