We will study in this video the CT file of a 60ish yo patient, who needs a Ventricular Tachycardia ablation.

His cardiac CT scan demonstrate extensive myocardial hyperdensities... But what could this be?

We will see in this clinical example how to reason through these "uncommon" cases!

ABOUT THIS VIDEO

It was filmed and edited in Strasbourg in May 2024. The data I present here are the most up-to-date according to my knowledge at the time.

WHO AM I?

Pr. Mickaël Ohana, Professor and Head of Radiology at the University Hospital of Strasbourg (France). I am a radiologist specialized in cardiovascular and diagnostic thoracic imaging. My specific area of expertise is sectional imaging (CT and MRI) of the heart, chest, and vessels, for which I trained during two fellowships:
- One in Strasbourg (France) from 2011-2013, in thoracic imaging,
- And a second in Vancouver (Canada) from 2016-2017, in cardiac imaging.
As a radiologist, I also handle on-call duties and therefore emergency examinations of all types.

Working in a university hospital allows us to see exceptional and educational cases every day, which I try to share with you.

As an academic, I am also involved in research and teaching. One can find the complete and up-to-date list of my scientific publications here: vu.fr/ohana

WHY DO I MAKE VIDEOS?

I am passionate about my work, and the central role of radiology and radiologists is unfortunately still little known, especially outside hospitals. Additionally, our specialty evolves at lightning speed, and new indications and possibilities appear very regularly.

The goal is to share with you educational cases, articles, lessons, and points of reflection to highlight the role of the radiologist and draw attention to new possible options in radiology. In short, to share knowledge with as many people as possible, both doctors and the curious: for a visual specialty like radiology, YouTube is the best space!
