UK and partner nations join forces to train 34,000 Ukrainian soldiers on Operation Interflex

International allies have come together to help train the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in their fight against Russia’s illegal invasion of their country.

The largest training effort outside of Ukraine is the UK-led Operation Interflex, which has trained 34,000 Ukrainians.

Ten partner nations have contributed to this programme, which is part of a wider effort by the 33 coalition nations that make up the Security Assistance Group- Ukraine [SAG-U]. Brigadier General Stalker, from SAG-U explains how the coalition depend on the UK’s leadership towards training and the significant contribution they have made to the wider international effort.

For Colonel Thurstan, Commander of Interflex the international element is one of the reason’s that Operation Interflex has been so successful. Whilst soldiers from Denmark and New Zealand, two of ten partner nations, explain the importance of this training mission and the pride they take in being part of it.

The world is standing with Ukraine, and this support means a lot to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The support and the training reinforces their will to fight, explains Major Mahlovanyi of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
