We are in the middle of the Corona crisis and it affects us all. It's such a weird time! To prevent the spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19 as much as possible, we should wash our hands frequently and keep a distance from each other. Since March 15, we have been in a so-called 'intelligent lockdown' in the Netherlands. Much is not allowed anymore. But at the same time, transport will continue as usual ...

I visit Frans op den Bult, perhaps one of the most famous truck parking lots in the Netherlands, along the A1, exit 31, to see how things are going over there at the moment.

Owner Pauline Scholten-Hellegers shows me around the family business and gives me a look behind the scenes of the restaurant, conference center and hotel. She tells what happened after the press meeting of March 15; it was announced as one of the new 'Corona measures' that cafes and restaurants had to close immediately. Takeaway meals were still possible. So everything was put in place to organize everything in such a way that drivers can get food and still use the sanitary facilities.

At the same time, there is renovation, without anyone noticing it now. A new bar will be placed, the 'dáámphok' (the smoking area) may no longer exist due to new legislation and will be added to the restaurant and new rooms will be built on the third floor of the hotel.

Meals can be picked up until the restaurant opens according to 'the new normal'. How's that going? You can see it in this vlog!
