On this episode of Street You Grew Up On, Kerry Washington is keeping it “slowed and throwed” as she journeys down south to Mo-City (Missouri City) and H-Town (Houston) Texas; the stomping grounds of the remarkable Kendrick Sampson. His story begins in a small town as a nerdy, funny, quirky kid with a big imagination and curiosity to understand the world. He introduces us to his village of “misfits” that embraced his uniqueness and encouraged him to be a free thinker. Driven by many passions, Kendrick’s path eventually leads him to acting and activism where he channels his spirit to be a voice for marginalized people.
