I just purchased this 1998 Honda Shadow Spirit VT1100c earlier this month and am loving it. It’s my first motorcycle so I have been spending lots of time learning to ride. It’s so hot in Texas so I have to ride early morning or late evenings. This is my first errand; a quick trip to HEB. I was able to balance a case of water bottles along with two large shopping bags. It’s good practice for taking the wifey poo on cruises around town. The music was made with FL Studio in my down time. Thanks for watching! I shifted from first gear up to neutral somewhere in the video lol. Luckily, I was able to shift up to second and smooth it out. Either way I’m gaining riders knowledge and will keep learning everyday. I have watched countless videos and am taking the motorcycle safety course next month. It's $300 but oh well. I believe it's required here in Texas to register my bike so have to do it anyways. Man this motorcycle is pretty awesome. I got it for only two thousand dollars with 45 thousand miles and I have zero regrets. I definitely recommend a Honda shadow. They start right up every time and are simple to understand. The 1100 is pretty heavy. I am 6 foot 1 and workout a couple times a week so I am decently strong. If you aren't pretty physically active a 750 or 600 or any smaller model might be easier for a beginner. Personally, I am happy to deal with the additional weight of this cruiser over the smaller engines in order to have a little more power but you will see what I'm talking about when you test drive one. I didn't realize but these cruisers are pretty heavy. That equals out once you hit 5mph and above though. This cruiser is very comfortable and I could ride for hours with no problem, especially compared to my homemade Honda Predator 212 motorcycle. Just takes some practice.
