The Temple is in Thirupathiripuliyur or Thirupapuliyur close to Cuddalore Town. The Presiding Deity is Padaleeswarar who is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. The Consort of Padaleeswarar is known as Goddess Periyanayaki who is seen to Bless from a separate Shrine. Appar, Sundarar, Sambandar and Manickavasagar have all sung in praise of this Temple. An illuminated exhibition finds a place in the Praharam. It is one among the Paadal Petra Sthalam. The Temple is more than 2000 years old and is of Dravidian Architecture.
