Sheriff Grady Judd is giving an update to the deputy-involved shooting that occurred around 9:30 pm on Friday, July 12, 2024, in the Oakwood Estates neighborhood off of Spirit Lake Road in Winter Haven.

The suspect, 19-year-old Henry Maynard, is deceased and the deputy who was involved was treated at the hospital for injuries he received after being attacked by the suspect. The Officer Involved Deadly Incident Task Force for the 10th Judicial Circuit is investigating.

The suspect had a previous arrest for aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer.

Deputy Sheriff Christian Quattlebaum is 26 years old and has been with PCSO for 4.5 years. He's assigned to the Central District Delta platoon.
