Saw this young Bullsnake crossing my horse's corral. Bullsnakes are good, some people believe in the West, as they supposedly kill Rattlesnakes, which are more dangerous to livestock and dogs. The recorded diet of a bullsnake is rodents. A farrier told me of a story of a cowboy he knew who spotted a Bullsnake when he was out riding. He picked it up and put it in his saddle bag, took it home. Put it in his haybarn. Saw the snake the next day out in the yard. Took out his lariat and whupped the snake purty darn good. Put it back in the hay barn. Snake never came out again and is the best mouser he has ever had.
