Over the past couple of years, and most dramatically in the past six months, I've experienced significant decline in my remaining vision. My specialists have no distinct reason for this, and the issues I'm experiencing are not correctable. Since I've been at home with our children for quite some time since last being in the workforce outside of the home, I have connected with Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Services, which in my state is a specific agency serving blind, Deaf-Blind, and visually impaired individuals, while a separate agency serves individuals with any other disability who experience an impediment to employment resulting from their disability. Today was my first planning meeting with my VR counselor and a tour of the organization where I will attend classes a couple of days a week. While I have typically been very good about audio description in my videos, I must apologize, because about mid-way through this video, there are a number of clips with background music that I completely forgot to get to audio-describing before I uploaded. These clips include Figaro and I working through Minneapolis, including two street crossings at lighted intersections, and him being asked to "Find the door." and successfully doing so. These clips also include some sped-up footage of me editing video using Final Cut Pro. My video editing is still very much reliant upon my remaining vision at this point, so you are able to see how close I need to get to the screen and how magnified my screen is in order to complete the detail work of editing.
