Most chi kung is what I call wimpy chi kung, for people who are weak or don't want to work hard. Some tai chi, like Chen style, can be a good workout, and tai chi is a type of chi kung. Tien Shan is rather strenuous, but it can be made very strenuous by applying the changes described in this video. Strenuous chi kung is best for cultivating chi power because it is best for increasing vitality.
