This is what I eat in a week as a D1 Student-Athlete at UC Berkeley (Cal) on the Men’s Swim Team. This week, my diet didn’t differ much from what I normally eat and that is what I wanted to show you all, a real diet of a D1 Athlete. As an NCAA Student-Athlete, we are constantly burning calories as I practice up to 20 hours a week in between weights practices and the pool, thus we need lots and lots of food. At Cal, there are lots of options for us such as Grab n Go, and lots of amazing local food places around campus such as Ikes, Cheese n Stuff, Mezzo, and Chipotle. Many people will say that swimmers eat a lot due to the legendary Michael Phelps diet and I hope that this video can attest to that. I’m eating between 3-5 meals a day and still having to find little ways in between to fuel my body.
