On a recent coast-to-coast trip from Seattle to New England for a gig at PilotWorkshops, I stopped at Clermont County Airport (I69) at Batavia, OH, near Cincinnati, home of Sporty’s, the famous pilot supply shop.

The leg from Sioux Falls, SD was mostly smooth above a broken layer of puffy clouds, but as you’ll see in this video, as I descended, the ride got bumpy. And stiff, gusty crosswinds made for a…sporty…final approach and landing.

I flew the RNAV (GPS) RWY 4 approach—the wind was essentially a direct crosswind to the only runway—starting at JAGXA. Cincinnati Approach cleared me straight-in from that fix.
