In today's episode of our daily sheep farming vlog at Ewetopia Farms, we are thrilled to share the exciting happenings in our lambing barn! Overnight and throughout the day, we welcomed a significant number of lambs from our Suffolk and Dorset ewes into the flock. While both breeds are sheep, one is considered to be a more maternal or motherly ewe, and the other is more renowned for its terminal or meat characteristics. As we assist in the delivery of lambs and carefully transfer them to the bonding pens, we reflect upon the distinctive traits we observe in these two breeds right from birth.

Our lambing barn is bustling with new arrivals, prompting us to dedicate most of our time to organizing pens and ensuring a smooth transition for the Dorset group to the Coveralls. This allows us to create more space in the lambing barn, as we continuously move lambs and ewes from one pen to another in an efficient assembly line fashion. This meticulous process ensures that the lambs can grow and progress through different stages of development with ease.

Additionally, we provide an update on a lamb that is experiencing difficulty nursing. We also cope with a Suffolk ewe with an uneven udder. Arnie also finds time to design a new feeder for the lambing jugs. Join us as we navigate through the various tasks and challenges that arise on our farm today. Stay tuned for an action-packed episode filled with adorable lambs and innovative solutions!
