Whatever Happened to McLean Stevenson - Henry Blake from TV's MASH.
McLean Stevenson (1927-1996) was an American actor and comedian who left an indelible mark on television during his career. Born Edgar McLean Stevenson Jr. on November 14, 1927, in Normal, Illinois, he embarked on a journey that would eventually lead him to become a beloved and familiar face in American households.
Stevenson's rise to fame began in the 1970s when he portrayed Lieutenant Colonel Henry Blake on the wildly popular television series "MASH." His portrayal of the affable and compassionate commander of the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital endeared him to audiences and earned him critical acclaim. However, despite the show's immense success, Stevenson made the difficult decision to leave "MASH" after three seasons, a choice that would significantly impact the trajectory of his career.
