Roshni: I began my engineering studies at the Nettur Technical Training Foundation. I was one of the few women in a large class of boys, and I felt like quitting many times. But I decided to focus on learning and building my future. When my college placements started, I was very anxious as recruiters would seek out boys for their superior physical strength. I felt let down by this until one day during my lunch break, I found out that Hindalco was looking for students like me, and all I had to do was appear for the interview and test. To be honest, I wasn't prepared, but with my rigorous training, I attempted it and got selected! My father was in tears when he heard that his daughter got a job in a big company and couldn't believe that I would be going to Dubai for further training. The joy that our family experienced at that moment cannot be described in words!

Sneha: I've always been passionate about engineering. My parents wanted me to pursue medicine, but I was determined to find a way to become an engineer. My mother gave me an ultimatum: I had to succeed or else I would have to get married. I was terrified by these thoughts, but they motivated me to push harder and go ahead and pursue my dream. When I received an offer at Hindalco's Silvassa unit, I felt so proud of myself, and it gave me a tremendous boost of confidence. Seeing the plant also made my parents incredibly proud and supportive; they even helped me move to the new city!
