Ingredients used for Vegetable Biryani:
Note: Make sure Basmati Rice is soaked in water for 20 Minutes and filtered it well without water before starting to cook
1. Basmati Rice - 2 Cups
2. Big Onion/Periya Vengayam (Chopped) - 1
3. Tomato/Thakaali - 1
4. Green Chilli/Pachai Milagaai (Slited) - 4 to 5
5. Ginger Garlic Paste/Inji Poondu Viludhu - 2 TbSpoon
6. Mint/Pudhina Ilai - 1/2 Cup
7. Coriander Leaves/Malli Thalai - 1/2 Cup
8. Curd/Thayir - 1 Tspoon
9. Bay Leaf/Brinji Ilai - 2
10. Cinnamon/Pattai - 2
11. Cloves/Krambu - 2
12. Star Anise/Natchathira Sombu - 2
13. Black Stone Flower/Kalpaasi - 2 to 3
14. Pepper Corns - 8 to 10
15. Garam Masala or Biryani Masala - 1 TSpoon
16. Chilli Powder/Milagaai Thool - 1 TSpoon
17. Turmeric Powder/Manjal Thool - 1/2 TSpoon
18. Oil/Yennai - 2 TbSpoon
19. Ghee/Nei - 2 TbSpoon
20. Salt/Uppu - As Required
21. Half Lemon Juice
22. Vegetables (Carrot, Beans, Potato) - As Required
Any other Vegetables such as Peas, Cauliflower can also be included. It enhances the flavours.
Vegetable Biryani can be served with Onion Raitha or Brinjal Gravy.
