The Pigeon Pose is a great stretch important for opening the hip and stretching the hip flexor muscles, the hamstrings, and the gluteal muscle group, which can become tight from prolonged periods of sitting and daily activities. By stretching these muscles, this pose can help to improve hip mobility and reduce the risk of hip pain and injury, release tension in the glutes and lower back, and help to increase overall mobility for daily function.

The problem is that most people have difficulty getting into a full pose - so I created this modified version that works for most people.

The Pigeon Pose has also been shown to improve digestion and circulation by stimulating abdominal organs and increasing blood flow to the working muscles and pelvic region.
And, like many other yoga poses, these stretches can have a calming effect on the body, helping to reduce stress and anxiety.
