Growing up I could play games for hours on end, with some of the longest sessions being upwards of almost 24 hours. I could sit and play black ops 2 with my friends all night, play Pokemon for 18 hours straight and play games like Skyrim for hours on end without feeling anything but pure joy and happiness. However, most of that was when I was a lot younger, once I got my first job everything started to change. Not only could I now afford to go do things I couldn’t do previously but adulthood was slowly encroaching into my life and with that, the feelings of guilt came with it. I would have that voice in the back of my head no matter the game, no matter the experience I was having, if that was by myself in a game I once was finding nothing but joy from or an online session with some of the best people I know it was always there. Saying I could be doing something better than this, something more productive, Something more worthwhile, and with those thoughts came the idea of gaming just not being for me anymore or needing to grow up. So today let’s have a chat, grab a cup of tea, and let’s discuss that feeling as I know many of you have the same feelings of feeling guilty while we game.
