In the most rural section of Trumbull County – more than 50 miles east of downtown Cleveland – sits a farm.
Not unusual for the region – dotted as it is with communities of Amish; and with families who have plowed and tended these particular parcels for generations.
But this specific 300-acre site is a therapeutic farm; designed to help young adults who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other mental illnesses.
That you're unaware of the place, which opened in 1996 – is one of the things they'd like to change.
A more cogent change they'd like to see – is how America treats people with diagnoses like the residents at Hopewell.
