In the mid-1980s, the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive wanted to replace its mid-sized buses (Seddon Pennine IV-236) running between Picadilly and Victoria stations. They turned to Ken Mortimer, their in-house industrial deisgner, to come up with a new bus to replace the decade-old small light vehicles serving the shuttle.
The result was the Dennis Domino, a scaled down version of the Dennis Donminator.
The Domino came in two versions: A stylish one for Manchester, and a more basic bus for South Yorkshire PTE.
A total of 34 Dominos were built.
See and hear the story of the Dennis Domino!
