The Hunter Economic Zone is an abandoned industrial park development located around 120 km north of Sydney and 30 km west of Newcastle. First identified in the early 90s as a potential site for industrial development, construction commenced on the site in 2002 and finished in 2005. However, only two tenants ever moved into the site. The site now sits mostly abandoned, and is the home of dead-end roads, overgrown vegetation, poorly maintained roads, illegal dumping and illegal street racing. So...what went wrong with the HEZ? In this video, I'll answer that very question.
