Dish
Upwas thali is made on the special occasion of Navratri.  Today I am showing some new and different fasting recipes. I am trying to make the meal healthier and tasty. I have also included a sweet recipe in the thali.  Sometimes we get fed up of having the same fasting recipes, so here are some new additions for your choice.  You can try it and drop a comment for me. 1) साबुदाणा पापड्या | Sabudana Papdi
Method: Fry Sabudana Papdi

2)उपवासाचे  दाणेकूट वरई | Upwas grinded peanuts Varai
** साहित्य: Ingredients:
• अर्धा कप वरई | Half cup Varai
• 4-5 आमसूल | 4-5 kokum
• अर्धा टेबलस्पून जिरं | Half tablespoon Cummins seeds
• 2-3 हिरवी मिरची | 2-3 green chillies
• 4 टेबलस्पून दाणे कूट | 4 tablespoon grinded peanut
• 1 टेबलस्पून गूळ |1 tablespoon Jaggery
• 3 टेबलस्पून तूप | 3 tablespoons ghee
• थोडी कोथिंबीर | some Coriander
Method:
• First wash Varai.
• take pot, add 5-6 cups of water and boil it
• Take one kadhai, add ghee and heat it up.
First fry Sabudana Papdi. Then make a tadka adding Cummins seeds and green chillies in hot ghee. Add 4 Cups of hot water. Then add kokums, jaggery, and washed Varai. Mix it well. Cover it for 2 -3 minutes.
Then add 2-3- cups of cold water and grinded Peanuts.  Add salt and mix it well. Cover it again for 2-3 minutes. After cooking spread coriander on Varai.

3) कोकम सार  | Kokum Saar
** साहित्य | Ingredients
• अर्धा कप आमसूल Half cup kokum
• 1 टेबलस्पून गूळ | 1 tablespoon Jaggery
• 1 टेबलस्पून तूप | 1 tablespoon ghee
• अर्धा टेबलस्पून जिरं | Half tablespoon Cummins seeds.
• अर्धा टेबलस्पून बॅडगी मिरची तिखट | Half tablespoon Badagi chilli powder.
• चवीनुसार मीठ | Salt
Method:
• First soak Kokum in water for two hours.
• After two hours, squeeze Kokum to make it juicy in two glasses of water. Then heat it up, add salt and jaggery. Boil it for 5 minutes.  This is our plain Saar.
• Now take one small kadhai, add two tablespoons of ghee and Cummins seeds. Put off the gas flame and add badgi chilli powder. Spread this tadka on plain kokum Saar.

4) दही साबुदाणा | Curd Sabudana
** साहित्य: Ingredients
• अर्धा कप साबुदाणा | Half cup sabudana .
• अर्धा कप दही | Half cup curd.
• 2 हिरवी मिरची | 2 green chillies .
• 1 टीस्पून मीठ | 1 teaspoon salt .
• 1 टीस्पून साखर | 1 teaspoon sugar.
• 1 टीस्पून जिरे पूड | 1 teaspoon cummins seeds powder.
• थोडी कोथिंबीर | Some coriander
Method:
• Add all ingredients in one bowl and mix it well. Add some coriander.

** बिना गूळ साखरेची, ड्राय फ्रूटसयुक्त लाल भोपळ्याची खीर.| Without sugar or jaggery red pumpkin and dryfruits Kheer.
• 200 ग्रॅम लाल भोपळा | 200 gram red pumpkin.
• अर्धा कप काजू | Half cup Cashews.
• पाव कप  बदाम | quarter cup Almonds
• पाव कप बेदाणे | quarter cup raisins
• अर्धा कप खारीक पूड | Half cup dry dates powder
• थोडेसे ड्रायफ्रूट्स | Some dryfruits
• 1 लिटर दूध | 1 litre milk
• 1 टीस्पून वेलची पूड | 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder

Method:
• Soak Cashews and Almonds for 2-3 hours.
• Then add soaked Cashews,Almonds and raisins in mixer jar and make a paste.
• Then cut red pumpkin in small pieces and boil it in water till it becomes soft.
• Then smash it.
• Take one kadhai, add one teaspoon ghee and roast dryfruits in it, and put it aside. Then add smashed pumpkin and Paste of Dryfruits in Kadhai and add dry dates powder. Mix it well. Then add hot milk and boil it for 5 -7 minutes. Put off the gas and add cardamom powder and dryfruits. Serve it either hot or cold, both are very tasty.
