Creating shidare-zakura (weeping cherry tree) blossoms using a water balloon for even daintier florals! Love love love these! Had preferred using regular balloons and making larger florals, but I’ll now probably be working with water balloons a lot more! Really works well if you want to create some space in between the blossoms. Can’t wait to try it with other colours! Hope you give this technique a try too🌸🥰🎶
Note: I usually wipe the balloon after each smash, however, for today's painting I did leave the paint on the balloon for a double smash in some areas.
*Paints:
Amsterdam - Permanent Magenta, Titanium White, Light Gold
Arteza (iridescent colour) - Glowing Peach
*Pouring Medium:
For colours: 60% Clear PVA Glue, 30% Water & 10% US Floetrol
Ratio: 1 part paint to 2 parts medium (plus water to thin consistency)
For base white paint: 70% Clear PVA Glue, 30% Water
45% paint + 55% medium
*Canvas size: 27.3 x 22.0cm (around 10.7 x 8.7 inches)
