Happiest when painting with Primary Magenta! Trying the “sakura smash” on 4 wooden panels🌸Trickiest part was laying down the base paint evenly. Wood panels aren’t absorbent like canvas so having too much paint on there can lead to cracking when dry. It may be easier to spread evenly with a palette knife🤩This was a really fun one to do though! Thinking of adding a couple more panels to make this into a 6 piece🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
The light pink sakura we get in Japan I was thinking of is called Somei Yoshino ソメイヨシノ. Will be trying to achieve that paler colour in the next sakura video🌸💕

Next video (for lighter pink blossoms):    • 🌸Light Pink CHERRY BLOSSOMS🌸Part 1 (l...

*Paints:
Amsterdam - Primary Magenta, Light Gold, Bronze (don’t think I ended up using the Bronze!)
Arteza - Glowing Peach
Liquitex - Medium Magenta (only used a little bit on one panel)
Pebeo - Iridescent Precious Gold

Base Paint: Monte Mart Titanium White + Amsterdam Titanium White mix

*Pouring Medium:
For colors: 60% Clear PVA Glue, 30% Water, 10% US Floetrol
Ratio: 1 part paint to 2 parts medium (plus water to thin consistency)
(e.g. 10g paint, 20g medium)

For base paint: 70% Clear PVA Glue, 30% Water
45% paint + 55% medium

*Wood panel size: 24 x 24cm (around 9.5 x 9.5 inches)
All 4 panels have been prepared with x3 coats of gesso

*Notes:
~ For this painting I’ve wiped off the balloon between each balloon smash
~ If you are new to this technique, I recommend using a thicker pouring medium (try experimenting with different products that are available in your region)
~ If too much paint is being pulled up by the balloon, go make a cup of tea and try again a bit later…the paint should be tackier by then and stay on the base☕️
~ Please wear gloves or wash your hands immediately if your skin is reactive to paints!
~ As these paintings take 1-2hrs to complete, videos have been edited down as best possible to under 15mins😊

Hope you enjoyed the video and thank you so much for watching. Truly grateful for all your kind comments, likes and subscriptions!😊
