The Spanish pronunciation of words like México, Texas or Oaxaca doesn't follow the rules of the language. This is a weird exception in Spanish, a very phonetic language. The reason why this happens is REALLY INTERESTING!
It has to do with old civilizations, empires, conquers, independence wars, antique dialects and more.
In this Spanish lesson, we are going to deal with all these topics: What does México mean? How was it pronounced before the Spanish conquest? Why don't we write "Méjico"? What's my opinion about this topic? What's yours?
