Fattening turkeys is very profitable, regardless of whether you raise 5, 40, or 1000 turkeys. What is mandatory is that you are well informed before starting, although if you are purchasing 4-5 turkeys, you can also manage important things on the fly.

The Pazin turkey has long been popular among people in this region, although it is a somewhat suppressed type of turkey. Of the types of turkeys, the domestic ones with strains are mostly grown, the Jagodina turkey, the Palanačka turkey, and the Dobrička turkey. Among the imports, the American bronze turkey and the white Dutch turkey are popular. The most famous hybrid turkey in these areas is Konverter.

Turkeys are large birds, and it is characteristic for all of them that they have decorations - skin growths on the head and front of the neck. In female turkeys this is less pronounced, in male turkeys it is quite well expressed. It is most often red in color, but it can also be in shades of blue.

Intensive breeding of turkeys implies a large number of birds in one place, with little space for movement, and that they are always provided with enough quality food and that they always have fresh water. During intensive breeding, several hundred or thousands of turkeys are usually kept.

Semi-intensive rearing means that the turkeys are released into a fenced area, but that they are given additional food in the morning and in the evening. This is the most common way to do it. Extensive farming of turkeys implies that they are always released freely.

Turkeys are purchased for breeding purposes, and although there is an option to buy one-day-old small turkeys, the most common ones are those that are 4 weeks old, which is actually a month. The reason for buying older turkeys is that in the first weeks, they are more sensitive to a lot of problems, and buying older ones avoids this.

The price of turkey is good and you can make money, but the number of buyers is limited. So it can be sold without major problems if 10 - 15 turkeys are fattened, however, with a larger quantity there may be problems. Another thing is intensive cultivation, where costs are well optimized, and when selling, you can go with a lower price. Turkey meat is very healthy.

It is best to install waterers for turkeys in buildings because they will automatically ensure that they always have fresh water. As for food, it is mainly concentrated feed on turkeys, which should be bought according to how old the birds themselves are.

When it comes to domestic turkeys, breeding can be facilitated by adding grass to the concentrate, but it is preferable to tie the grass in bundles and hang it so that it hangs. Turkeys simply trample grass thrown on the floor, eat it while it is clean, and stop eating it as soon as it gets dirty.

Konverter turkeys are pretty popular, but domestic turkeys should not be underestimated either.

Turkeys are slaughtered when they are 12 weeks old, while turkeys are slaughtered when they are 20 weeks old.
